In a world plagued by war and locked in eternal strife, these are a people born with bravery, forged by hardships, and fueled by generational resilience. Until they face the ultimate challenge.
Elevator Pitch
Bloodlines of War: Worldshaper is a low-tech (WW1), high-fantasy, squad-based roleplaying game set in the world of Terra. The player takes control of an elite squad of special forces agents tasked with hunting down an ancient weapon of mass destruction in the vast, war-torn region of Kamako before it falls into the wrong hands.
Notable Aspects of Terra
The low-tech world of Terra consists of 2 continents:
· Salancia: large, diverse plains
· Agasian Isles: a cluster of large islands where the game takes place
Terra is mainly powered by a rare, malleable metal-like resource called Pteranium, which is mined in large cities through underground mining but is found more frequently in mountain mines and dedicated excavation sites. Pteranium is extremely volatile and dangerous to the touch and can only be handled with gloves. In large amounts, metal is even more dangerous and must be handled by a machine. It emits massive waves of harmonic energy that connect with pteranium-powered technology such as radios, artillery, automobiles, and telephones. It’s able to automatically power anything within range of the underground lines without any need for a physical connection.
History
The dark universe: In the beginning, there was nothing until the first light shone. With this event, the first two beings, light, and darkness, were born. Light and darkness fought each other in endless combat, the path of their trillions-yearlong war leaving behind the stars and the planets of the universe. And then, they clashed in one final battle that killed them both and triggered a galactic explosion, giving birth to five celestial gods.
Prehistory (the Celestial Wars): The five celestial gods battled between galaxies, vying for control of the universe for billions of years until the planet of Terra was found. Terra was an anomaly. From a distance, it awed the gods. Among the debris of fallen planet fortresses and energy bombs was the first planet with organic life, and since its founding, the gods turned their attention away from the celestial wars and began to fight for control of the creatures of the planet.
0-5000 (the First War): Terra is a flat purgatory. A completely smooth planet with a range of deserts, planes, and forests across its surface, teeming with humanoid best-like lifeforms who are all at war between species. To the many greater wolves and apes who are already at war between themselves, the arrival of the gods couldn’t have been timed more perfectly. Akeno was able to gain a cult following within the greater wolf population as swiftly as Steelfire was able to do the same with the greater apes. The Bone god was able to the same with the greater bats. Soon, the war between the greater creatures was being fought by the gods on behalf of the beings that worshipped them.
The 1,000-year war ended when Akeno began to experiment on life forms and create the first humans, who were capable of wielding celestial power. Using his new life forms, and an array of devastating celestial weapons, Akeno wiped the entire population of greater apes and greater lemurs with a single attack. The rest of the gods teamed up to stop him and in a battle in Tuyen, Akeno is killed, and his blood becomes the Akeno River.
After his death, the rest of the gods grow restless, and another war breaks out between them. This time, with the help of their own custom-made celestial weapons called bloodline swords. They then have a battle so great that they shape the world into the diverse landscape that it has in present day and are all killed. However, every god, save for Akeno, is resurrected in three mortal forms: terraspien, kamakan, and human.
The Holy Wars (5000-5200): The bloodline weapons survive the first war, and each god spends their 200-year life reproducing and retrieving their weapons so that the people of their race can use them to continue their legacy. Vitera creates the Repunare Empire, Steelfire founds the first ninja clan, Kril’naha creates the holy kingdom of Yakima, and Vil’mahi creates the Blood skeleton Cult.
The Shattered Age (5200-6500): The gods finally die, and though they promise to return, they remain missing. Without them, their kingdoms begin to fall apart as civil wars across the Agasian Isles trigger the mass expansion that would lead to the population of Salancia. These wars ended when Suraza Kamako and her loyal followers defended the deserts of the continent of Kamako, eventually gaining enough followers to unite the entire continent under her banner. At the same time, in the continent of Valos, the Repunare Empire began to descend into civil war as they battled the ninja for control of the continent.
The Age of War (6500-7021): The new nations of the world began to fight many merciless, brutal wars across the continent of Salancia to become the dominant power of the Terra. At the end of this age, Jodah is born and becomes the first known human to become attuned to a bloodline sword. The VSF was founded with the purpose of guarding the power of the bloodline swords against anyone who would use them for war. Additionally, the unification wars take place, seeing Valos attempt to take over the entire continent in a campaign against the ninja tribes, but ultimately failing. Meanwhile, the imperial kingdom of Kamako begins an economic golden age. At the end of this age, the age of war ends with a worldwide peace treaty.
The desert war (main storyline) (7111- 7121): The empire of Kamako falls to the Cozo gang who eventually become the new empire of Kamako. The Valosian unions put a stop to Cozo’s empire and eventually liberates the continent but at the cost of turning it into a wasteland frontier of scattered city-states, rebels, and raiders. Cozo’s son unlocks the secret behind the bloodline sword called the Worldshaper, tracks it down, and begins a conquest to finish the war and take revenge for his father’s fallen empire.
Classified File #867, operation: Worldshaper – Main Setting Overview
It is the year 7120. It has been five years since the last battle of the war between Kamako and the unions, referred to as the Desert War raged between the three nations of Agasian Islands, and each region in its war-torn isles is struggling to cope with the aftermath of global warfare. The war left the eastern United Unions of Valos in a state of false peace and political distress, divided by conflicting political parties and lingering war tensions, scars from the war eternally seared into the minds of its millions of fearful citizens.
The five long years of war rendered their former enemies, the western Imperial Kingdom of Kamako, an empty shell of its once glorious empire. Dangerous weapons left in the wake of the devastating warfare and scattered across Kamako’s vast, crime-ridden wastelands give way to vicious daily skirmishes between raiders and rebel forces alike in a power struggle to reclaim the vast desert. Only the lone city of Furano remains among the towering ruins and battling shantytowns, and it belongs to the United Unions as an overseas Valosian settlement. It too is divided by an equally conflicted population of Kamakan loyalists and newly assimilated Valosian citizens.
In the northwest island, across the Matsu River, the lush jungle cities of Yakima remain united. Yet, its military forces engage rebels daily to protect their close borders, the frontline nearly as combat ridden as it was during the war.
The VSF: a battalion of covert commandos from the highest ranks of the Valosian Terrafleet have been tasked with tracking the destructive weapons hidden within the wasteland, keeping them safe from those that would use them for unjust reasons, and bringing peace to Kamako.
But time is running low, and it is only a matter of time before someone else might find it and use it unjustly. The Rebels, known to themselves as the Ikasha, grow stronger every day, with goals set higher than Kamako’s once mighty armies, marching across the wasteland, rapidly uniting it under the once feared Cozo banner. The world is on the brink of another collapse, and the VSF’s mission is the only thing standing between world peace and self-inflicted world destruction.
Main Protagonists
· Astrid Titianheart: A seasoned squad commander in the Valosian special forces, the small-framed, unassuming terraspaien is a master of speed and stealth. Introduced to the world of warfare from a young age. Astrid’s father, Eldrin Titianheart, was one of the most respected and accomplished Valosian special agents in history but was killed in action when he was just nine years old. Astrid dedicated himself to recreational sword fighting in his youth, becoming known around the whole of Valos for his blinding speed and deadly accuracy, eventually becoming a professional-level prospect before joining the sentinels at the beginning of the desert war. His service as a sentinel rifleman in the war was filled with extended combat, and the hardships of war turned him from an aloof, pompous celebrity to an understanding, firm leader, devoted to the safety and protection of those around him. As the leader of the Special Forces’ intelligence and recon team, Eagle Squad, his mission is to lead the search for weapons of mass destruction in the Kamakan wasteland.
· Mara Hadankati: Former wife of the old king of Kamako, Mara Handankaiti is the thoughtful, driven queen of Kamako. She defected from the ruthless empire and leading Furano in the name of the Unions of Valos. When the desert war ended, she was given partial control of Furano as the remaining heir to the throne of Kamako. Her mission is to reunite the fallen empire under a banner of peace and security.
· Lorien Reeves: World champion sword fighter and decorated sentinel swordsman, newly recruited VSF agent Lorien Reeves’ Terrafleet service began to hone his skills with advanced training. However, when the desert war broke out, he decided to abandon his career and deployed with Sentinel company claymore in the southern front. He and Astrid are close friends, bought closer by their mission to protect Valos from threats across the world.
Main Antagonists
· Danzo: The young leader of the Ikasha, a once feared army within the Fallen Kamakan empire that is now a lone group of 700 warriors who are not finished fighting the desert war, is largely a mystery. Like the many other rebel companies and raider groups, Danzo’s goal is to reunite Kamako under his rule. But his outlandish claims have caused many outside of the Ikasha to write him off as delusional. His first claim is that he is the disowned son of Mara. And though few members of the Ikasha believe this claim, all of them believe him to be the true heir to the throne. His second claim is that the gods have spoken to him and told him that they will aid him in his quest if he finds the fabled world-shaper blade, a bloodline sword capable of destroying entire cities with a single swing.
· Tuzon Asikasha: A member of the Ikasha, Tuzon fought in the desert war, killing many. However, after losing his sister in combat, he became solely focused on revenge. Tuzon’s goal is to go to Valos and kill the force commander Yotenwing, the man who led the assault on his hometown and led to his sister’s death.
· Kata Rano: A kamakan child who was left an orphan after his parents were killed in the desert war, Kata’s new home is with the Ikasha. When Danzo found him, he was waiting for his own death from starvation, lost in the scarred lands that had been devastated by the desert war. Now he is a trained soldier, loyal to the Ikasha and dedicated to the war effort.
· Water: water typically comes from massive wells underground where workers cycle water from the water table to the surface through underground pipes that run alongside pteranium lines. The lone planet of Terra, locked in a never-ending cycle of war and loss, shall never know peace. Generations and generations of man and mankind alike go to war over mortal promises, fighting wars with eternal consequences, dooming their children and grandchildren to fight the battles of the last age, filling its history with conquest, death, and grand warfare.

Weapons (guns)
WPRs
Wooden-plated rifles (WPRs) came about years before the arms race began. Made almost entirely out of wood (the only metal component of the weapon being the NP cylinder system), the WPR is seen as the most accessible firearm in the realm of Pteranium powered weapons. They're easy to build and very light, in contrast to "NP" Rifles, which are made entirely out of metal and much heavier. The lightweight and easiness of access associated with the WPR has made it a mainstay in many armies and militant organizations such as pre-desert war Kamako, the Ikasha, the forest Ninja, and some branches of the YDF.

NP rifles
NP rifles are the tried-and-true weapon of the Valosian sentinels. Though manufactured ages ago for the unification wars, many places outside of Valos have a hard time replicating the rifle. NP rifles are made completely out of energized pteranium, making them extremely powerful, only capable of firing light rounds, and very costly or simply impossible to make without the amount of pteranium Valos produces from its large valleys and massive mountains. NP rifles are heavily guarded and cannot be sold or distributed in or outside of Valos without immediate military intervention. The only way an NP rifle will find itself in the hands of a soldier not part of the Valosian military, is if it is stolen or somehow manufactured outside of the country.

Spike guns
Spike guns are the world standard for defensive firepower and anti-armor weaponry. The rounds used in the heavy weapon are made from N-20 pteranium, which is weak on its own, but devastating when packed into large munitions. N-20 rounds can pierce through any armor, and kinetic resistance allows the speed of the rounds to be unabridged by friction or contact, making spike guns lethal against armored formations and mechanized assaults.

Main factions
A country with unrivaled pride in justice, empire, and protection, the United Unions stands tall on the world stage as a symbol of passive power and a beacon of peace. Separated from the vast deserts of Kamako by the narrow green sea, the island of Valos is riddled with towering mountains over dense forests and thick green plains. Its three cities: The city of Merithan, The City of Repunar, and the capital city of Nexus are centered around the highest mountains housing the industrial and military population, and the villages between them house the rural population.
The country is domestically policed by the Leaf Ranger core. The Leaf Ranger core is tasked with handling crime, civic unrest, and relations with the Tuyen tribe, a hidden sect of Ninja that exists within the shadows of Valos. Due to the unpredictability and roughness of the mountain terrain, The Leaf Ranger core is connected through an underground system of tunnels under a perimeter of small garrison buildings known as report booths, which can be visited by citizens to report problems.
The stone-built nation’s architecture beautifully blends in with its overbearingly natural surroundings. Massive hundred-foot trees block out the sky and create a canopy that tops off the mountains in the many dense forests, while the open plains, which house most villages, are constantly overgrown with earth wheat: hyper-growing tall grass that grows by the foot with the dew of every morning no matter the season. Many buildings in Valos are built 3-5 feet off the ground, a stone path cutting through the tall grass leading to the steps of the entrance. In the towering mountains, urban cities cling to the sides of them like barnacles on whales, with many sections of them completely within the mountains themselves.
Castles: Another example of the stone architectural prowess of the Unions is their Castles. Castles are the bases of operation for the Terrafleet, the unions’ land military force, and they are artificial mountains, each one towering above the land width and substance, walled in with 50-foot-thick walls and fitted with hundreds of cannons.
The Unions believe in resolution through dialogue and debate. Their government is divided into 9 political parties, each one vying to be heard by the people and have their minister elected as the prime minister in a bi-yearly election. the extreme political culture that stays true to the treaty of the 9 villages and often heard chanting, “For Unity! For justice! For Valos!

The terrafleet
“The first Terrafleet was not a massive wave of armored men, or an outpouring of overwhelming firepower. The first Terrafleet was a group of nine brave men, unwilling to flinch in the face of violence so that one day, their children would never have to.”
- Prime Minister, Scotia Navahawk
The Valosian Terrafleet is the combined military forces of the Unions of Valos, separated into five different cores or “Houses”.
Terrafleet Houses
Sentinels Of Valos: Established hundreds of years ago during the Repunar civil war, the sentinels of Valos are the main land warfare house of the Terrafleet and is the second oldest house in its ranks. The sentinels' mission is the protection of the Unions’ bordering foreign assets as well as the planning and execution of offensive operations during wartime.
Valosian Special Forces: An elite division of 700 expertly trained intelligence agents, assassins, and spies of all sorts. The Valosian special forces are responsible for the investigation of internal and global threats.
Knights of Valos: Like the Valosian sentinels, the knights of Valos were established just months after the sentinels. Their mission is the protection of domestic lands from foreign threats, including the defense of the Valosian border during invasions and collaborating with the leaf rangers to eliminate high-level internal threats.
The riflemancer core: The Rilflemancer core is the division responsible for the research and testing of new rifles, armor, and armored vehicles, as well as collaborating with the VSF (Valosian special forces) to identify contraband weaponry and weapons of mass destruction.
The Hawks of Valos: The hawks of Valos are responsible for naval warfare, as well as the transportation of military units across seas, and defending the coasts of Valos.

Support man: specializes with heavy weapons and vehicle repair.
Auxiliary soldier: Specializes in anti-personnel weaponry such as heavy machine guns or sniper rifles. Typically carry extra ammunition as well.
Shield men: shield men are deployed in 10-man teams dedicated to moving long, 7 feet tall, 8 feet wide pteranium shields, which hold frontlines during long assaults in places with little cover.
The Imperial Kingdom of Kamako dominated the world from the year 7000 until the crime boss Managa Cozo began to take control of the empire's capital city of Furano. Then Managa Cozo became King of Kamako, the empire was thrust into a deadly war which saw the sudden and tragic collapse of the once great empire. The vast wasteland is mostly a flat, semi-arid desert covered with cactus plants and natural wheat patches. The vastness of Kamako cannot be understated, as journeys from one city to another can take up to a day by half-track or horse, leaving most of the ruined cities to fend for themselves and turn into their own governments.
