DANGER!

Now that we've got your attention....
Which do you think is more dangerous, werewolves, or vampires? Also why?
Personally, I feel werewolves are a bigger threat. You can keep the vamps out of your house, and avoid going out after dark (if we are following the norm) but wtf are you going to do if a werewolf tears through your front door while you're trying to get it on with some random you picked up at a cafe/bar/whatever social venue???
The phrase that time of the month would have a whole new meaning if werewolves were just allowed to run loose every full moon like its The Purge.
That being said, I would totally either befriend one, or get bitten by one, or both. Some things are too fun to miss out on!

@Ezra
in an octagon cage match? a werewolf. Overall? vampires.Excluding Ferals of each category, I think werewolves could balance nature by living in rural forests and hunting wild game. I think they are harder to kill in open spaces than vampires, but also more predictable like an animal. Their ravenous hunger would make it harder to conceal the hunt in congested communities, and if you go by "full moon" rules, most with the curse may be able to lock themselves up for the evening. Should they love the thrill of the hunt, they would most likely want to go somewhere they can't be trapped or stabbed by silver, and somewhere less likely to spread the disease and ruin their own hunting grounds. They would most likely focus on outsmarting hunting parties, and covering their mess when they aren't mindless beasts. Keeping a low profile for a werewolf seems safer overall for humans. They leave tracks and marks everywhere they go, making them most likely want to live an isolated existence for survival.
Vampires often need to live in more congested communities to feed without suspicion, and their hedonism makes large cities a prime target to feed on the debaucherous. Vampires can manipulate Thralls to hunt for them during the day. Since virgin blood seems to taste better than hobo blood, this organized crime structure would develop a human trafficking ring, and cultured vampires who live for long periods of time have the patience to develop such an enterprise. They would want a perversely artistic culinary experience after simple murder no longer appeases their taste. This is why vampires are far more dangerous: they are seductive and have aristocratic appeal, luring young onlyfans girls who wish to benefit. They have time to plot and plan and sow and reap, and the full faculties of a manipulative human mind to sit around all day and plot their future networks. A vampire keeping a low profile is far more insidious than that of a werewolf.

I think we are missing the key threat here. Yes, we have to worry about the savagery of a werewolf, lost in the madness of a waxing and waning moon. Yes, we should always be wary of the dark under belly of the vampire syndicate plaguing are cities. But of both of those societies have lived amongst us for thousands of years, unseen by everyday Mortals.
No, we must be wary of the catalyst. The insinuating spark which flares into open apocalyptic warfare between the supernatural races.
Some call her the chosen one.
Others simply know her as the protagonist.
But all know of her story.
Beware, the unreasonably attractive 18year old girl from a small town with conveniently absent parents. For she is the bane to all immortal beings forever trapped as 17 year olds with strong jaws and a premium CrossFit membership.
Fear her. For she is war. She is death. She is the deadliest point of the love triangle.

@merlin
lmao this might be the single best thing I read all day. I think you even trumped Prophet with this explanation.It's true. Lets be honest, if you lived for hundreds or thousands of years, and you looked hot and young forever, ya'll gonna bone and bone often. Like sure, knowledge, wealth, power, these can all be accumulated with enough time. But at the end of the day lust always seems to be the strongest human impulse that is likely magnified with the undead and the furry bred.
Don't believe me? Go find a 60 year old man. He still thinks he's a stallion. Show an old lady a hot underwear model and watch her blush.

I feel like we keep assuming weres are these like peaceful souls who just want to go romping in nature and who would be considerate enough to lock themselves up when they know they will change soon. But what if they really aren't?
Here me out. What if they did live in the city, where "animal" attacks keep happening? I mean, someone might call animal control, but I doubt those fellas are packing silver. What if they said screw it and just mauled folks once a month and disappeared? I believe they also could create an organized crime structure, but maybe theirs will be more centered around fixed cage matches and taking on jobs as hitmen. I imagine it would be easy to tear through a target's (and possibly their entourage) and it would be written off as an accident because who is going to charge an animal they can't find for murder? Admittedly I am not taking my crazy idea too seriously, because I am coming off a 12 hours shift lol.

@Ezra
If were talking Michael J Fox as teen wolf, hired as a hitman to take on the mob, then yeah, that's a different story.We'd need to establish some world lore rules before truly knowing. Like does sunlight burn a vampire or just make their skin sparkly?
-
@Ezra I think in the modern era, vampires are probably the bigger threat as they're better at manipulating society by design. Also, I imagine they would be better at setting up long term power structures that suit them. They're quasi-immortal politicians with supernatural powers after a point. But maybe I've played too much Vampire the Masquerade back in the day (Gangrel for life!!).
That said, I'd probably prefer to be a werewolf and make a national park or some similar expanse my home, periodically running amok like some cryptid.

Why do we gotta pit two hot people against each other? I would date both of them. They are not dangerous to me because we are in love we all live together in Draculaβs mansion and eat raw steaks for dinner and hold hands.
