Iconic Game Quotes

Have I ever told you the definition of insanity

Ooooh there’s so much Final Fantasy dialogue that has resonated with me but the main quote coming to mind right now is from FFIX’s Zidane - “You don’t need a reason to help people.” Not only did it sum up his character completely in only 8 words, it’s also just a simple and important statement to believe in. I’ve tried to keep it in mind ever since playing the game for the first time.
And to bring a little levity, I have to mention Tidus’s infamous laugh from FFX. Not a quote really, and iconic for all the wrong reasons, but...IYKYK.

Ohhhh and I can’t believe I forgot Disco Elysium! It’s really more of an interactive novel, it has some of the most beautiful prose I’ve ever read (and I read a lot). There are many, many gorgeous quotes but this one takes my breath away every time:
-
A few of my faves
Game 1
"The rantings of an upjumped zealot make for tedious listening."Game 2
"Find something to believe in, and find it for yourself. And when you do, pass it on for the future." -
Okay, so the only one I could get was game 1. Red Dead Redemption? And admittedly I only got it because my partner was looking over my shoulder.
-
I don't know this one! I feel like it could be anything!
-
I really need to play final fantasy.

@mianngu
Game 1 was Red Dead Redemption II. It's hard to find single quotes that are really good because Arthur is usually responding to somebody.Game 2 was StarCraft, one of the early missions in the Terran campaign.
Game 3 was Jagged Alliance 2. And God, how I hope they don't fuck up JA 3.
-
Oh I never got into Starcraft but it looked very cool.

Farcry 3:
I played all the Farcry games and by far three was my favorite. Farcry 3 came out while I was still in the service, recovering from an injury I had received overseas. I was stuck at home, and struggling to adjust to civilian life. A key part of the story is how through trauma one can find the strength to fight.
At its heart the game is a simple shooter with an over reliance on blood and gore, but at that point in my life it was what I needed. A new look at what it meant to be broken beyond repair and yet remaining in the fight.
Also you could shoot exploding arrows like Rambo and use psychedelic drugs, so that was cool too.

I'm so sorry you had to go through that. Trauma like that can be such a silent struggle, but you were so resilient and found escapism that also resonated with you. I never played Farcry, I'm not terribly fond of shooters. I am terrible at aiming. But I can understand loving a game because it was there for you.

“You are a horrible person. I'm serious; that's what it says: 'A horrible person.' We weren't even testing for that. ” Pretty much anything GLaDOS says in Portal is gold. I don't know that a game has ever made me laugh harder than that one.
Also, any quote from Handsome Jack in Borderlands 2, there are too many to name, but I do especially love Butt Stallion. The Borderlands games have such good dialogue.
