H'ok so.
Here's the earth.
Damn that is a sweet earth you might you say....
I wanna know your favorite fantasy/sci-fi/fiction or whatever genre gets your motor going series and maybe like... would you want to play out a roleplay in that universe?
I am sure there's a few fangirls/boys/enbies out there who used to make up a character, plug them into the show via your outstanding imagination, and just go wild.
No? Only me? Ok I will go first....
So I definitely wish for more Firefly, I mean, who didn't? I wanted to be in that universe so bad.
But even more than that, strangely, I wanted to be in a world where the show Eureka, actually did have a town full of super geniuses. Seriously unrated show, folks. Even more so than the science, I loved that exploring the unknown feeling. Tech that was so advanced, but so normal to the townsfolk.
Another one that I liked from a story concept, was Sense 8. I rarely come across someone who knows this one, its on Netflix for those who care, and there is nudity so if that bothers you, or you have littles running around, maybe don't watch it then lol. I won't elaborate on it here, not yet anyways. But that one managed to hit the full spectrum of human emotion for me.

Sooooo my favorite movie is What We Do In The Shadows. My favorite TV show is What We Do In The Shadows. Would I roleplay in that world? Would I roleplay as a silly goofy vampire? I mean...I'm pretty sure I already have.
I'm also a huuuuuuuuuuuge fan of The X-Files, which would make an awesome monster-of-the-week RP! Pretty similar to season 2 of The Adventure Zone, probably. Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, I really want it.

Ummm I have terrible taste in television. So my GOAT movie is definitely, Ever After. I love it. There are SO many things wrong with it, if anyone knows I know, but I still love it.
GOAT tv show is probably The Great. But my favorite TV shows change like the phases of the moon. However, just outstanding dialogue in The Great. Best Dark Comedy.

@Ezra @SwampCreature Sense8 and What We Do in the Shadows are so good!
I don't know if I can narrow it down to a definitive Top 10, but here's 10ish that I think are definitely in my top 20
- Community (also The Office (US) and Parks and Recreation): I think they have such good characters that it would be really easy and fun to hop into some of them and role play as them, but it would require an amazing GM to come up with a funny and interesting story.
- Person of Interest: I don't know how popular this was back in the day, but I think it would make for an amazing series of one-shots. The story is there's a "Machine" that is tapped into every camera in NYC and spits out a SSN when it predicts that that person is going to be the victim or perpetrator of a violent crime.
- Game of Thrones: I know Mount and Blade had great GoT mods, and some of that gameplay would be really appealing; starting from the bottom and gaining recognition through winning battles and aligning with different factions as you travel around. If it had a bit more of a conversational role-playing component, it'd be such an insanely exciting game.
- Breaking Bad: It's such a tight character driven story that happens in the real world, that it's difficult for me to imagine more to explore. Probably worked best as a show and can leave it at that, but I'd love to hear people's suggestions for it.
- Avatar: The Last Airbender + The Legend of Korra: Great shows with a great world. There's probably thousands of homebrews being run about it, but I haven't played any so idc. Having a party of random people unrelated to the Avatar just going around using Bending to bust their way through quests sounds amazing.
- Misfits: It would make for a pretty standard superhero TTRPG, but if the GM was able to match the vibes and humor to the show, it would make for an incredible campaign.
- DARK: Another really tight story, but by stealing some of the world mechanics (I don't want to spoil them because the show is incredible at revealing what's at play), I think a great GM could make an amazing campaign.
- Steven Universe (+ Future): Great room for stories of both the main party, or any random gems in the universe you'd like to see. Bonus points if you have an artist playing with you and they can draw all the characters and their fusions
- Mindhunter: Taking the theme and some of the aspects of the show to do some sort of mystery, action, buddy-cop role-playing campaign to chase serial killers would be pretty cool.
- The Orville: This has become my favorite SciFi show (in part because I haven't watched that many), so whenever I fantasize about role-playing in a space opera, it's the universe that comes to mind. If you haven't watched past season 2, you might think I'm insane, but it gets very real and very high budget.
Anime honorable mentions:
- Cowboy Bebop: Probably another one played thousands of times over the last couple of decades, but you can't blame them. It's an iconic space western, with a lovable main party you can role-play as, and a very cool universe for you to explore as different people too.
- Death Note: I'd love to see a role-playing campaign about a game of cat-and-mouse between either two players or a player and a GM; probably with new characters, potentially in a different part of the world (or you can have it in your own world) cause all you need to get the story started is the notebook itself (for people who haven't seen the show, if you write someone's name in the book, they die).

@merlin Hey, I will have to check out that show, I have heard a lot of mixed reviews but I need to stop rewatching the same shows lol.
I also wanted to know, do they call the werewolves in that show "gypsies"? I am not sure how old the show is, but I know that word is viewed as a slur in Romani communities and has slowly been making its way out of common speech. Despite being educated, well off, and honest people, the Roma still get bashed as thieves, well-fare queens, etc, especially over in Europe.
It's important to know history, and not try to erase it, and this forum/team/game/beautiful idea seeks to look toward the future and have empathy for all walks of life, in other countries, and without judgement.
As a community member and an Ambassador for the game, would you mind editing your comment please? You may choose to simply say werewolves, or maybe to describe them as living off the grid, or mystical, or if they are, in fact, Roma, call them that. I know for many Americans, that slur is meant to mean something like wild and free spirits who are landless and often magical, but there are other ways we can say that without unknowingly using a slur that's been used to oppress generations of Roma people.

@Mariano I am LITERALLY watching Community right now. I honestly feel that show was ahead of its time. All the paintball episodes rank high on my list of favorites, and I am trying to get my partner to start watching it lol.
I don't know how many souls are left alive that haven't seen Game of Thrones, but for better or for worse, it was still a captivating show. I loved the big cast for it, and that everyone was just fighting for their own vision. Other than the walkers, it was really just people behaving as well as they could with the tools that they had. Any show that paints someone as the villain but still gets me to empathize with them is off to a good start.
Avatar The Last Airbender will forever be my favorite. I was at the right age when it came out and I STILL have a crush on Zuko.
I couldn't list anime... I would have too many. That being said I still watch Yu Yu Hakusho and always will. If I had kids they would watch it lol. Though I will say Death Note is one I got into late in the game, but I appreciated how they did their dialog. Normally info dumping in scenes annoys me. But Death Note was clever. You saw the result without knowing the plan which made you WANT the explanation.

@Ezra Community really was streets ahead. Paintball episodes are all incredible, and Remedial Chaos Theory is one of my favorite all-time episodes of TV in general.
I had the opposite experience with Death Note, where it was one of the first anime I watched, and it blew my mind; made me get into all kinds of other shows. If I liked it so much back then, there's a big chance it wouldn't hold up as much for me now, but it still holds a place in my heart as one of my most enjoyable watching experiences.
