A question I haven't seen asked yet
-
I'm understanding that I keep the IP of my tale but what if say my tales is up on the platform and being used and I decide to make a board game with that same content or a ttrpg or even a video game am I ok to do this will my tale be taken down just wondering what the impactions of such actions
-
@Lynx316 Thanks for your question! That would depend on which aspects of your Tale you'll be using within the other media. Would all aspects—including, but not limited to, characters and design—of the new media (be it a board game, video game, novelization, etc.) be part of your original tale, and originally your creations? If the answer is a definitive yes, then you are using only your own IP, and you should go for it! If, however, there are other players' and/or creators' efforts within the new work you are trying to create, that would need to be a longer and more in-depth discussion.
Note: Questions of IP and creator credit are so idiosyncratic to the situation, so for a hypothetical situation, this is all we can say at this point of development! If you have further details, feel free to send them along.

@Mrs-Whatsit so I feel from what I understand your saying is as long as it pretains to my world and things I've put into it's ok but if other players of my tale have created parts of it from playing I could either choose to not use those ideas or I'd have to get permission to use that content they have made(which of course I understand fully it's Thiers) I just provided the backdrop not the adventure or story or the characters they made is this what you were meaning or am I completely wrong
-
@Lynx316 Correct! That's what I meant.
P.S. Just a friendly reminder to note that winning Tales from the contest have a special condition: winning Tales will have a non-compete period of two (2) years from the winner announcement date. During this period, winning Tales cannot be sold or licensed to Unplay's competitors. This is in the contest's terms of service you see when you submit your Tale.

@Mrs-Whatsit oh yeah that's fine I wouldn't sell any content of my tale to anybody body else anyway lol I'm to controlling but I would produce something from my tale myself and advertise it like as seen on livetale or some such that you so much you have been so very helpful
