We are looking for a Software Engineer!
Experience in Unity 3d is a must, along with an understanding of Unity's Canvas UI system and comfort in exploring asset data. If you think that is you, linked below is a github project you can fork and play with, submitting a PR to us as an example of your skills in Unity, coding, software design choices, and basic sensibilities in user experience. We will be accepting and reviewing PRs through the end of next week. Entries that meet our internal criteria will be followed up with an interview request. At this time we can only hire people approved to work within the United States. Thanks!

A note on eligibility for winning the contest
Hi everyone! We're really excited to see all of the submissions coming in as we get closer to the end of this phase of the contest, and we appreciate all of the work, energy, and imagination going into each concept. As we get ready to move on to the next stage of the contest, we wanted to share some reminders about the qualifications necessary to be one of the ten contest finalists:
- You must be 18 or older. LiveTale is currently an 18+ community, and we also need to abide by regulations around the distribution of cash prizes to minors.
- You must be a US resident. Contests are regulated very strictly and subject to different laws depending on the country the participant is in. We are exploring how we can expand future contests to creators from around the world.
We encourage you to read the terms here. Don't hesitate to ask a question in our Support forum if there is anything we can help with or clarify.
Also, this won't be our only contest, and we'll be continuing to support our community and creators looking to bring their role-play ideas to life through different programs. So, if you wind up not being a finalist for this first contest or are unable to meet the entry requirements, we'll definitely have more chances for you to participate in the future!

RE: How many submissions can you make?
I'm going to move this topic down to the questions category; thank you so much for answering, Kismet!

LiveTale Forum Community Guidelines
At LiveTale we seek to build a vibrant community of role-players where everyone is empowered to live out their personas and fantasies in real-time in an environment where they feel respected and welcome. LiveTale aims to create a safe and encouraging environment where our players can be themselves while exploring the different sides of their imagination.
It is only with the help of the entire community that we can foster a positive experience and build a connected universe of play. We need every player to uphold the values set forth in our Community Standards. All players deserve the best possible experience while exploring and creating Tales in our multiverse.
These Standards will evolve over time as we learn more about how to best support our community to help it grow and thrive. As we learn and evolve every day, we will ensure that this document best reflects our approach to the ever-changing world. We will always listen to the needs of the community and update this document to reflect our collective growth.
LiveTale Community Guidelines
Be Kind
- Communicate with courtesy, dignity, and respect
-The way you choose to communicate with others in LiveTale will influence the way they speak to you in return. Choose to be courteous and respectful. - Be tolerant towards the viewpoints of others, respectfully disagree if their viewpoints do not align with your own, within reason
-If someone is engaging in actions or speech which dehumanizes others, report them instead of engaging, so we can take disciplinary action. Do not report someone just because you disagree with them. - Treat others the same online as you would in real life
-Use empathy. Remember, there is another human being behind the screen. You probably have more in common than you think! - Discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, national origin, age, or physical/mental ability is not tolerated
-Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, religious discrimination, xenophobia, ageism, ableism, etc. will not be tolerated, nor will any symbols of hate. - Personal attacks are not allowed
-Attacks on the character of a person or their appearance, whether real or virtual, in a non-role-play manner meant to harm the actual person behind the username will not be tolerated. - No trolling, bullying, slander, extortion, death threats, threats of violence, harassment, etc.
-This includes messaging people when you’ve been asked to stop, lying about or denigrating a person to others, sending threats of real-life harm, threatening people for money, etc. - Abuse of LiveTale employees is not tolerated
-The employees of LiveTale are here to help you; however, they will not tolerate abuse directed towards them. There are real people behind each screen, and they deserve to be treated with respect, even if you are unhappy about an aspect of the platform. Repeated requests for a player to stop harassing or abusing employees may result in a suspension or permanent ban.
Be Honest
- No spam or scams
-Repeating the same thing over and over in chat, trying to lure people to outside links in order to receive sensitive information about them or their account, etc. will not be tolerated, whether you believe the content is legitimate or not. - No solicitation or advertising of outside (non-LiveTale) content
-MLMs, pyramid schemes, Etsy, eBay, Amazon links, etc. are strictly forbidden. - No impersonation
-Pretending to be other users, mods, or admins in an effort to be malicious or cause discord may result in a suspension or permanent ban.
Be Responsible
- Be responsible for yourself, your actions, and your content
-Be mindful of your impact on other users. Do not plagiarize or steal ideas from others. - We rely on you to report inappropriate content. If you see something, say something
-If you see others violating community guidelines, please report them so that we can take care of the matter and get everyone back to enjoying their experiences in the forums. Refrain from engaging if possible. - NSFW/explicit activity is only allowed in select areas, and must not be used in a way that is harmful to others, or illegal
-NSFW/explicit content must never be used around minors or used to lure or otherwise groom minors or children. Explicit activity must be done with the express consent of all parties engaged; if at any point one person no longer wishes to engage and revokes consent, the other party or parties must cease their actions immediately. - No offensive usernames
-Names meant to invoke a response or harm others mentally or emotionally may not be applied to personas, characters, NPCs, or any other entity. - Sharing of personal information
-Do so at your own risk. LiveTale is not responsible for any issues which may result from the sharing of personal information, on- or off- the forums. - No account sharing
-Any account you make should be owned and used by you alone. - No use of copyrighted, trademarked, or use of intellectual property or material without express permission from the owner
-Examples: Disney, Star Wars, Marvel, DC, Stranger Things, etc. - No content that glorifies self-harm
-Examples: Suicide, cutting, etc.
If LiveTale’s community guidelines are broken, intentionally or accidentally, the content in relation to the offense will be removed or edited, and LiveTale will let the offender know why their content goes against our guidelines. If the breach is severe enough (discrimination, harassment, illegal activity, etc), or the user has repeatedly committed offenses, we at LiveTale reserve the right to remove access to the community and LiveTale itself - temporarily or permanently. LiveTale reserves the right to remove any content or suspend accounts without prior notice and at our discretion if we feel the behavior of the participant is dangerous or unhealthy to the LiveTale community. We may update LiveTale’s Community Guidelines as the game and community develop.

Announcing the LiveTale Launch Contest!
Submit a unique, imaginative story for the chance to win cash prizes and have your story brought to life!
Welcome to the LiveTale forums! If you haven’t heard of us before and have just stumbled upon us, you can find out more in our FAQs. We are in development, and we expect changes to our website and the details of our platform; please bear with us and be patient. If you’re still wondering who we are and what we do, here is a summary:
What is LiveTale?
LiveTale is the flagship game from Unplay, a new company striving to Unlock the Power of Creative Play. LiveTale will be an immersive online platform that allows the creation of worlds known as Tales. Creators can share their Tales with other players in our roleplaying community. Players can then build out those Tales collaboratively as their worlds grow. LiveTale is the story engine that brings our Tales to life.
The LiveTale Launch Contest
With that introduction, we are incredibly excited to announce our Launch Contest! We’re launching this contest to jumpstart our platform in an exciting way. We want to help our team build a community with roleplayers and content creators. As a bonus, some of the submissions to the contest will serve as debut content for our platform. We want your unique ideas for plotlines, character archetypes, and more. We’re offering cash prizes to the top 10 submissions to show our commitment to our content creators. This contest is open to anyone 18 or older who has a comprehensive, engaging, and interesting Tale to share.
The contest begins in March. There will be at least eight weeks for Tale submissions. After our review period, the LiveTale Team will select 20 tales based on the community's input and our own criteria. After this, there will be four weeks of community voting, where the ten most community-favored Tales will be green-lit. Chosen Tale Creators will win a cash prize and the chance to collaborate directly with us. Users who place a vote for a winning entry will be rewarded with a complimentary in-game Tale Blueprint Card to access that content.
Joining the Community
By creating a LiveTale account you will be able to participate and vote in the contest. In addition, users who register during the contest will have the earliest access to the LiveTale platform when we enter the beta phase. Each member of the LiveTale community will be given multiple votes to distribute amongst the Tale submissions. We hope the community will encourage each other's creativity to make the most incredible Tales possible.
Prizes
-
1st Place (2 winners) - Gain full production support from the developers on their Tale and a cash prize.

2nd Place (3 winners) - Gain partial production support from the developers on their Tale, a cash prize, and a TBD amount of in-game currency.
