I want all the book recommendations. I love fantasy, epic fantasy, outside the box thinking, and even a little bit sci-fi. I loved The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man's Fear. And I'm always looking for something that reminds me of those while we wait another (hopefully not) decade for the third book.

But I would love to hear your favorites.

@Ezra It's a contemporary style modern sci-fi book, but I absolutely adore The Roadside Picnic. It's absolutely haunting and brilliant withn the explanation of it's own absurdity. This is one of those books that gave rise to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series of games, but that doesn't do justice to it.

        I'd rather be creating!

The Powder Mage Trilogy by Brian McClellan does not gets its due. If you like fantasy books that have lots of war and magic and intrigue, then they are a great read.

@Ezra In a similar pursuit as yours, I started reading some Brandon Sanderson a couple of years ago since I heard he was very prolific and easy to get into. I started with Mistborn and ended up reading like 6 of his books that year: a reading pace I hadn't had since I was half my age 😄

Night angel trilogy. Best character arcs I have ever read.

@merlin You know, I vaguely recall seeing the cover for this one I think. Sometimes I am guilty of stockpiling new books but getting hung up on a book I've read 5 or more times lol.

@Mariano I started with Mistborn too! I keep wanting to get into the Stormlight Archives but they are just so massive that I feel like I never have the time to just read for large blocks of time like I want to lol.
