What do you all do for Halloween?

It's my favorite holiday, so I try to spend as much of October as possible doing spooky things. I love decorating, dressing up, going to/throwing parties, going to apple orchards and picking pumpkins, doing events like Witches Night Out, etc.

I even went on a 'haunted' road trip with one of my besties a few years ago; we visited Stephen King's house in Bangor, Maine, saw where the Headless Horseman rode in Sleepy Hollow (Tarrytown), and then for the finale, we stayed in Salem for Halloween (which was amazing, but I do not recommend, it's hectic).

In times past, I've often enjoyed taking hayrides, haunted or otherwise, and enjoying a cider donut somewhere along the way.

I'd love to go to an adult costume party but ehh... people my age don't really do much or they have family trick or treating to do.

In more recent years, I've gone to the dance club in costume and did my moves on the floor. That's always fun. I've been trying to work out a costume for this year, but it's falling through a bit. I wanted to be something more esoteric like 'The Green Man' but there's not much in the way of affordable options in costume components for something like that. I keep dreaming of doing a Beetlejuice outfit, though. Maybe this'll be the year. Failing that, perhaps Popeye?

        I'd rather be creating!

Halloween is my favorite holiday too - I suppose that doesn't come as much of a surprise! I love going to parties, buying up all of the Halloween decor, going to haunted houses, all that stuff. I used to always go to a local event called the Creepy Cheapy - $7 admission at a club that had an all-night, multi-stage lineup of local bands dressed up as famous bands and covering their music! No admission without a costume, and I saw some incredibly creative outfits!!! I'm probably not going to make it this year, but I've already got a few things in the works. My partner and I have tickets to an event at a goth-themed tattoo shop where we're getting spooky flash tattoos and swag. There's also at least one party being cooked up by my friends. On top of all that I'm an October birthday (Libra squad!!!) so I usually do something fun for that.

When I worked at Target I used to love Halloween because it meant I could waste time just hanging out in all of the decorations with the spooky music we used to play.

Nobody here seems to do much for Halloween which is a real bummer.

@K-O Hide in the back of the house, in the hopes that neighbor kids think no one is home.
